Prostate Complete Basics: Made exclusively for men suffering from prostate problems, Prostate Complete contains an exclusive blend of natural herbs designed to boost prostate health, including saw palmetto, vitamin E and zinc. It’s also free of any sugars, starches, or preservatives, reducing the chemical overload on the body. And if you can’t take their word for it, take the word of Dr. Kevin Passero, the naturopathic physician and vice president of Maryland’s Association of Naturopathic Physicians, who recently approved it for dietary use.

Ingredients: Prostate Complete contains vitamin B6, zinc, copper, vitamin E, selenium, saw palmetto 40-45% extract, beta-sitosterol, pygeum africanum powder, red raspberry juice extract, graviola herb powder, green tea 50% extract, cat’s claw powder, broccoli extract, lycopene, stinging nettle herb powder, reishi mushroom, shiitake mushroom, maitake mushroom, and a proprietary blend of quercetin, juniper berry powder, Uva Ursi powder, buchu leaf powder, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, glutamic acid, l-alanine, l-glycine, calcium d-glucarate, pumpkin seed powder, burdock root powder, cayenne pepper powder, goldenseal powder, gravel root powder, marshmallow root powder, parsley leaf powder and white pond lily powder.

Does it Work? Not very effectively. Their saw palmetto extract appears to be a condensed or hybridized version of the extract, which may not be as powerful as pure saw palmetto. It’s true that saw palmetto was shown to reduce urinary problem caused by an enlarged prostate. However, some health organizations, including the Mayo Clinic, are even starting to recommend it as a natural alternative to prescription drugs.

Its other ingredients, including pygeum africanum, graviola herb and cat’s claw, are also potent herbs that promote prostate health in many ways. The problem here isn’t the fact that it’s not effective, though. It’s the fact they’re using low quality powders instead of pure extracts or liquids.

Unlike pure extracts, condensing herbs into a powdered form strips it of most of its nutritional quality, meaning the benefits associated with that herb are significantly reduced. In some cases it removes all of its nutritional properties, making it about as effective as a sugar pill.

So if you think these ingredients can legitimately help, you’re right. But using powders over pure extracts reduces its ability to promote those benefits.

Is it Safe? There are no known side effects associated with Prostate Complete. As always, check with your doctor before beginning any supplement regimen. Some of the ingredients may affect the efficacy of certain drugs or supplements.

Grade: C. The big problem here is the use of powders over liquids or pure extracts, reducing the efficacy of this all-natural prostate supplement. Prostate Complete could make their supplement more appealing, and effective, by using higher quality ingredients.
